Career Coaching Services
About Career Coaching
I’m Ryan 👋 You can read more about me on the “About” page. My primary work involves supporting nonprofit organizations by recruiting new staff members. I spend my days reviewing applications, conducting interviews, and guiding organizations through the process of selecting their next CEO, Program Director, Finance Coordinator, or any number of other roles.
I also support job seekers on the other side of the hiring equation by providing career coaching services. Looking for a job is hard. It can feel defeating. An interview might go sideways. You might wonder if you’re doing it wrong. All of those things are normal.
Working with me will help you get clarity on what you’re looking for. We can explore new and different opportunities to see if they’re a good fit for you. You’ll gain the confidence to tell your professional story. We’ll ensure your application materials are in tip-top shape. And we’ll build a sustainable and effective job search routine that meets your unique needs.
If you have more questions, feel free to contact us or check out the FAQ below.

F.A.Q.
I have extensive experience recruiting for all types of organizations. I have reviewed thousands of resumes and conducted thousands of interviews. I have partnered with hiring managers and understand what they look for in a candidate. The advice and guidance I offer is grounded in years of experience.
If you would like to chat with past coaching clients, I am happy to connect you.
Of course! In fact, I insist on it. It’s important that you feel comfortable and confident before we start. We’ll chat for 30 minutes or so, give you a chance to ask questions, and get to know one another. Email us at info@publicgoodtalent.com and we’ll set up a time to meet.
Email us at info@publicgoodtalent.com. We’ll set up an introductory meeting to make sure it’s a good fit. Then we’ll get started as soon as you’re ready!
I have no predetermined structure for my coaching services, because there is no one-size-fits-all approach that works for everyone. Every job seeker needs something different. If we work together, I’ll build a nuanced understanding of who you are and what type of support you need. We’ll create a custom scope and sequence designed specifically for you.
That’s completely up to you! Some clients prefer to meet twice weekly and finish our work together in two quick weeks. Others prefer to spread out the sessions over the course of a month or two. This is your time to use how you’d like.
Yes, all of our sessions will be held via Zoom (or another video call platform of your choice).
Yes! Switching fields can be scary, but we can make it less daunting. It’s important to say that not every candidate is qualified for every job. You might have a hard time getting a software engineering job if you don’t know how to code. But it’s 2025, and it’s common for people to switch fields multiple times within their careers. We can figure it out together.
My recruitment work focuses primarily on jobs at nonprofits and community organizations. But I have also coached clients to secure jobs in tech, politics, government, and other sectors.
No. And we think you should be skeptical of any “coaches” who make this promise. A good coach will learn about your unique skills and preferences, then set you up to feel confident that you’re looking for the right jobs in the right way.
Contact us anyway. We don’t want cost to be a barrier to you receiving the support you need. We can often work something out.
